I'm reading Robert Dallek's AN UNFINISHED LIFE John F. Kennedy 1917-1963 - if ever there was a guy who didn't want 2nd place it was LBJ, but in the end he accepted it...the rest is history.
It's interesting how ill-informed the public was regarding Kennedy's health problems compared to what we know today about pols...now we know what a pol tweets to strangers, even if we don't want to know, and we know what airport bathroom stalls a pol prefers on his way back home.
