HFBG LARRY JOHNSON IN BLOG NEWS!

Larry Johnson Brings Back ‘Grandmama,’ Past Memories

Former UNLV star Larry Johnson, 42, is a pitchman again. He is hawking Grandmama Sweet Southern Tea for his company, Hall of Fame Beverages. Johnson also said he’d love to return to Vegas to coach his alma mater. It’s like the ’90s all over again.

You probably never imaged Larry Johnson enjoying a nice cold glass of iced tea, much less selling the product. But apparently Johnson’s trademark gold teeth is also a sweet tea.

According to Hall of Fame Beverages’ website, the tea is inspired by sweet tea from Johnson’s childhood in Texas.

“This line of flavored teas is currently in development and will come in sweetened natural flavors reminiscent of the cool refreshment from hot summer afternoons sitting on the porch at Grandmama’s house,” the description on the site reads.

That sounds like an easy afternoon, the exact opposite of the hard labor Johnson forced upon those who tried to guard him.

Johnson, who didn’t have exemplary grades coming out of high school, started out at Odessa Junior College in Texas. He dominated that level, winning JC player of the year honors both seasons he played at Odessa.

He averaged 22.3 points as a freshman and more than 29.0 points as a sophomore there. Johnson’s play served notice to NBA scouts, many of whom said that he could have gone directly from junior college to the NBA.

Johnson instead chose to join UNLV, play under coach Jerry Tarkanian and alongside future NBA players Stacey Augmon and Greg Anthony.

In his first season, the Runnin’ Rebels dispatched a vaunted Duke team, led by Bobby Hurley and Christian Laettner, by a record 30-point margin to win the 1990 national title. Johnson had 22 points and 11 rebounds in the victory.

With the city rallying behind it like never before – and that’s hard to do in a place laden with transplants and tourists – UNLV ran to a 27-0 regular-season record in 1991 despite claims of recruiting violations and misconduct.

The NCAA allowed the Rebels to defend their title before punishing them, a feat they almost accomplished. They went back to the Final Four in 1991 where they fell, 79-77, in a rematch with eventual champion Duke.

In that game, Johnson famously passed on an open 3-pointer, which would have been the go-ahead shot – only to pass to teammate Anderson Hunt, who clanged his attempt.

UNLV’s 45-game winning streak was over, and it would take Johnson a while to get over that loss. In March, he told Larry Brown Sports that it’s hard for him to watch the game, a contest in which he scolds himself for playing too nonchalant.

In the end, Johnson’s time in Vegas was a smashing success. He left school with the 1991 Naismith and Wooden awards before getting drafted first overall in the 1991 draft by the Charlotte Hornets.

Johnson earned his swagger with the Hornets, with whom his “Grandmama” character was born.

The name of the tea is based the character from past Converse commercials, one of the most famous shoe apparel commercials of all time in which Johnson dressed as an old grandmother but still dunked on the competition.

Of course, Grandmama almost never happened. Johnson wanted to sign with Nike, but he says the company told him they didn’t think he’d be a good pro. When Johnson signed with Converse instead, he did it with the intention of a very different ad campaign that involved getting operated on by Larry Bird and Magic Johnson.

Said Johnson to SLAM Magazine: “ I spent the money so I had to do it, but if they came to be right out college and said, ‘We want you to do Grandmama,’ I would have never done it.”

Johnson found success on the court as well, winning the 1992 Rookie of the Year, playing with the Hornets from 1991-96 and making two NBA All-Star teams before a back injury slowed him down.

He eventually reinvented himself as a low-post scorer and spot-up 3-point shooter on the Knicks (1996-2001), with whom he helped send to the 1999 NBA Finals with a famous four-point play against the Indiana Pacers.

These days, he does some promotional work with the Knicks but has turned down opportunities to be an assistant coach. Tom Thibodeau recruited him for his Chicago Bulls staff.

“I had to tell (Thibodeau) that my heart wouldn’t be in it, and he said he wanted me because of my passion and my heart,” Johnson told Larry Brown Sports.

But now, Johnson told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that he would be interested in coaching at UNLV, which recently hired Johnson’s former teammate Dave Rice to replace Lon Kruger.

“I would love to do it,” Johnson told the newspaper in April, speaking of the head job before Rice’s hire. “This situation is just like ideal. It’s close to my heart. If they hire me, we would get back to being the Runnin’ Rebels.”

Augmon, Johnson’s aforementioned running mate, has been hired as an assistant at UNLV, possibly opening the door Johnson’s hire at some point in the future. The Rebels’ staff currently is full.

For now, Johnson will have to sit back and sip on some sweet tea until the time is right.

HFBG NEWS$$$ out!! bala,,,[b]Red Robin Restaurants to Serve Hall of Fame Beverage's Sweet Tea

2011-07-20 09:35 ET - News Release

LAS VEGAS, NV -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 07/20/11

Hall of Fame Beverages, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: HFBG) CEO and President, Jessica Gutierrez, announces that Grand Ma Ma's Sweet Southern Tea is headed to Red Robin restaurants. The Lehigh Valley Restaurant Group, Inc. will be putting Hall of Fame Beverage's brand tea in 18 of its Red Robin locations with plans to serve the tea to its customers in additional restaurants in the near future. This Red Robin franchise Group covers the Lehigh Valley, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Philadelphia and Harrisburg regions in Pennsylvania.

Gutierrez says, "We couldn't have found a better Group to work with in rolling out our bag in a box (BIB) tea product to restaurants than the Lehigh Valley Restaurant Group and Red Robin restaurants. They have welcomed Larry Johnson and our company with open arms and we look forward to a long relationship with them."

Chad Miller, Director of Purchasing for the Lehigh Valley Restaurant Group, says, "We're excited to partner with Larry Johnson and his company, Hall of Fame Beverages. We're always looking to serve our customers the very best, and Grand Ma Ma's Sweet Southern Tea will be a great addition to our menu. We would love to see the tea in every Red Robin restaurant all over America soon."

Hall of Fame Beverage's owner and founder, Larry Johnson, helped the franchise Group open its 18th location in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, back in April, and says Hall of Fame couldn't have found a better partner to highlight the company's new leadership and growth into the future.

"Red Robin Restaurants are a great place for Grand Ma Ma's Sweet Southern Tea to make a home. These guys are such a class act and have made us feel we're doing the right things with the right people, and it's a relationship we're proud of at Hall of Fame." Pictures of the grand opening are on our website.

The Lehigh Valley Restaurant Group opened its first Red Robin in 1993 and will open its 19th restaurant this winter with more breaking ground soon. Our distribution partner US Foodservice, Allentown, will be distributing our bag in a box product to the Red Robin locations. Red Robin started in Colorado back in 1969 and currently has more than 430 Red Robin restaurants nationwide.

Five of the Group's Red Robin locations are outfitted with the bag in a box equipment to serve the tea immediately. To find all of the locations of the Group's Red Robin restaurants that will serve Grand Ma Ma's Sweet Southern Tea, go to their site at www.redrobin.com or our site at http://www.halloffamebeverages.com where we'll link you to the locations and highlight the first 5 outfitted restaurants.

Also, Hall of Fame Beverage's CEO has started the process to decrease the company's Authorized Common Shares count by 1-billion shares. Jessica Gutierrez has filed the paperwork with the state of Delaware and the company's Transfer Agent to rid Hall of Fame of any shares that could be added to the share structure.

"I told our shareholders in my recent letter, that things will be done differently at Hall of Fame Beverages, and that I am focused on building this company the right way. I will be doing what is necessary to reduce the share structure and the first step is to decrease the AS. I want to make it clear I have no intention to dilute." Look for more exciting news in the coming week.

HFBG UPDATE!!!

Update to Balamidas exellent post on HFBG>>>>

Hall of Fame Beverages President Addresses Company's Future

Hall Of Fame Bev (PC) (USOTC:HFBG)
1 Month : June 2011 to July 2011

Hall of Fame Beverages, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: HFBG)

President's Letter to our Shareholders:

Dear Shareholders,

The era of irresponsibility is over. As the President and CEO of Hall of Fame Beverages, I am responsible to you, the shareholders. The buck stops here, and I will take ownership and responsibility for everything that happens inside this company. At Hall of Fame Beverages, we will no longer accept blaming others, unprofessional actions by our employees, or providing the public with unrealistic information. The lack of results and the excuses that have been a hallmark of this company for years are over. This company has failed its shareholders, and with that in mind, I would like to usher in a new era of transparency, and a new era of responsible corporate behavior.

When Larry Johnson approached me with the opportunity to take over Hall of Fame Beverages, I was made aware of the lack of ownership in publicly released statements, and the many accusations and finger pointing made by this company. It was then that I immediately began my own investigation and research into all of it. After months of conducting thorough due diligence, I have concluded we are ready to move forward.

Although I was not a part of Hall of Fame prior to now, as its President and CEO, I don't feel we can move forward and remove the dark cloud of uncertainty and irresponsibility without correcting the record. As we begin 3rd Quarter 2011, I will not disrespect long time shareholders by pretending we can erase or forget the past and this includes past press releases; instead, we will use it as a lesson and as a direction, we no longer want to travel.

I would first like to extend a sincere and heartfelt apology to The Stock House Group, our former IR firm. Accusations of non performance and illegal trading by the firm are without merit. I have found no evidence and after demanding proof, I have not been provided with anything whatsoever to warrant the malicious statements made inside and outside this company. The fact is that it was poor management, and uncontrollable dilution not The Stock House Group. We hope they can forgive the irresponsible behavior, and will appreciate our new direction and our look to the future.

We need to move this company forward and start to build a brand, create revenues and profits and bring each shareholder the value you have long expected. Larry has placed his trust in me and tasked me with this endeavor.

Our products are delicious, our sales team is increasing distribution channels, and we're pleased with our production partners, so I am satisfied that we're on track and improving in these areas. It is the corporation that needs an overhaul. We need to become more transparent by being more responsible with our numbers, information and our efficiency. Larry Johnson felt my experience would provide leadership where Hall of Fame has been deficient.

My background is in business banking, financing, and investing both nationally and globally. I have extensive experience with corporate leading and directing, and corporate marketing. I intend to fulfill my obligation to Larry Johnson, Hall of Fame and its shareholders with respect and integrity.

No, my background is not in the beverage industry; however, I am not afraid to ask for assistance in areas I may be unfamiliar. I will look to add strong industry leaders we can consult with, who will complement the consultants Larry already has in place (not Ross or Luciano). I have been entrusted by Larry to speak on his behalf as well as represent him, so expect me to act accordingly and grow this company and its products immediately.

I would like to address a few updates:

Company Structure: The Preferred A Shares control the ownership and voting within Hall of Fame. There are 30,000,000 Authorized Shares, and there were 5,000,000 shares Outstanding. At Larry's request, Calvin Ross issued the remaining 25,000,000 Authorized Preferred A Shares to JAG Food and Beverage Holdings, LLC. Ross and Giovanni Luciano signed over their combined 5,000,000 Preferred A Shares upon resignation to JAG Food and Beverage Holdings, LLC (2,500,000) and Brad Godfrey (2,500,000). It's been stated the remaining Preferred A Authorized Shares were not issued which is incorrect. All of the Preferred A Shares are issued and outstanding.

JAG Food and Beverage Holdings, LLC: 27,500,000 (92%)

Brad Godfrey: 2,500,000 (8%)

Haddon House: We have a great relationship with Haddon House who is a distinguished, reputable specialty foods distributor on the east coast. We intend to utilize Haddon House later in the year. Though we were unable to attend their show due to personal scheduling conflicts, we were able to cement our relationship with a meeting in their corporate offices.

Tone Products: Has completed our 1st production run of the Bag in a Box (BiB) which includes both regular and sugar free Grand Ma Ma's Sweet Southern Tea. Tone Products produced 6 pallets of the tea (4 Regular, 2 Sugar Free). There are 126 1.5 gallon BiB's per pallet. We'll be sending these pallets to US Foods, Allentown. We received a PO for our BIB's from US Foods, Allentown, to be placed into a number of restaurants which we will name upon receipt of the purchase order.

Tampa Bay CoPack: Will produce our second run of Grand Ma Ma's Sweet Southern Tea, during the first week of August. I will say that this is a smaller run than the company's first run, but most of this tea will be sent out immediately to be distributed, and we're planning our 3rd run.

Reverse Split: I can assure shareholders there will be no reverse split in 2011. I know shareholders need to hear this from each new company executive.

We have a number of exciting distribution and placement updates expected by early next week that we'll update next week.

Sincerely,

Jessica Gutierrez

President and CEO

HFBG should be on everyone's radar and definitely on the front page here!! Currently at .0008 and about to get insane!!

This company has added a no nonsense CEO & President... who has immediately promised no RS, immediately filed to reduce the AS by 1-billion shares as just the start to addressing the SS.

This company just partnered with Red Robin restaurants... a nationally known restaurant chain to serve its Grand Ma Ma's Sweet Southern Tea. http://www.marketwire.com/press-release/red-robin-restaurants-to-serve-hall-of-fame-beverages-sweet-tea-pinksheets-hfbg-1540299.htm

This company just completed and shipped its production run at Tone Products of the sweet tea in the Bag in a Box (BiB). Red Robin is the first of many to take it. Others to be announced very soon.

This company is about to start its latest production run of the tea in the 20 ounce bottles in the first week of August (not this week but next) out of the Tampa Bay CoPack production facility.

This company has a distribution deal in place with US Foodservice in Allentown, US Foodservice in Tampa, and Haddon House currently with plenty more to be named soon.

This company will also be producing desserts to complement the tea product. Grand Ma Ma's Sweet Gourmet Desserts, and has signed a bakery just recently to handle the job.

The new CEO and President is by the book and she is no nonsense and making bigger and bigger announcements each week. Confidence and market sentiment are growing by the day. Huge volume and movement last week with much more to come as all of the exciting news hits the wires. This week we've been promised even more news and we should see the confirmation of the AS decrease!!

Radar it! Catch up on the DD!! Read the PRs!!! IMO : )

SSHS huge news out

Sean Finegan, Vice President, Business Development, Safeguard, stated, “We continue to expand our service deployment throughout the state of Texas with our largest utility clients. In particular, we were recently awarded two additional projects in east Texas, considered ‘critical infrastructure’ under the guidelines of Homeland Security.” Finegan added, “Due to the sensitive nature of our business, we are limited as to the amount of information we can release to the public market and our shareholders regarding the specifics and location of these projects.”

R. Michael Lagow, CEO for Safeguard, stated, “The energy market continues to be a hot spot for us and we are in step with our projected revenue for this quarter. Our team continues to improve our overall operations and operating performance metrics, and I am pleased with our overall results.” Lagow added, “As our margins continue to improve, we are reducing our debt as we pay down certain debt items out of cash flow. ACYD NEWS$$ American Community Development Group Adds 6 More Properties

2011-08-01 08:00 ET - News Release

Agrees to Work with Owners of 80 Distressed Properties

TAMPA, Fla., Aug. 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- American Community Development Group, Inc. (OTC Pinksheets: ACYD) today announced that it is taking over 6 existing transitional housing properties. The properties are multi-family and single family.

The Company estimates that it will have the capacity to add 36 more residents to the current capacity of 54 clients which, when fully occupied, our base revenue could potentially climb to $540,000 from our current base path of $324,000. Company management intends to aggressively integrate these new properties into our operations system and to add more growth capacity over the next 6 to 18 months.

The Company has also received several inquiries from other private investment groups from several other parts of the country asking our assistance in continued development of transitional housing from their local stock of distressed housing.

Since 2008, American Community Development Group, Inc. (ACYD.PK) is a socially responsible public company that specializes in real estate investment. We create and sponsor affordable and transitional housing and job creation programs for the nonprofit community and are currently focused on the Florida West Coast. We have positively affected hundreds of lives including, but not limited to, Florida. Our expansion plans include other regional and national affiliations.

"The Company", was founded as a real estate investment company in the Tampa Bay, Florida market. We intend to acquire properties at tremendously discounted prices during the current market down trend. The Company has also received offers to expand its pilot operations to other markets where distressed real estate prices are prevalent. We then increase shareholder value and revenue by using the properties to house the clients of existing nonprofits groups or other agencies.

Our revenue model uses a typical 3 bedroom property to generate over $30,000 annually in gross revenues because of the extremely high demand for transitional housing. This compares to an average rental income of about $12,000 for a similar property with a traditional tenant.

According to John Folger, President of American Community Development Group, "We are currently acquiring interests in single and multi-family homes, apartment buildings, and other high occupancy commercial real estate properties, all while helping members of our community," he continued. "This approach sits well with both the community and our shareholders because we work directly with the nonprofit community and government agencies to house their clients. This model keeps our properties fully occupied."
