the problem is always a glass half empty or half full. the us has screwed them by playing power politics, but it is turkey and iraq/britain who did the real hurt. dont confuse meddling with extermination and the refusal to give them a state. The us did not do it to them. The us is not the worst player. If you really want to go for bat for the kurds talk turkey and the ottoman empire. Turkey is doing what it knows best: no radars for the US no air force for the US unless the kurds are not supported. the germans gave the turks the weapons to fight the kurds. I am sure the US wants an independent kurdish state becasue that would be preferable for the US, but any support for it is squelched by turkey

You are absolutely right. Another place were the hypocritical US foreign policy shines through. Of course the Kurds deserve a state. But if we were to push Turkey to give it to them we will lose the support of Turkey which is a critical country. The US has become nothing but a front for elitist special interest groups. Our foreign policies do not have a human honest face. Instead the world looks at us and sees a bunch of hypocrites with a foreign policy so screwed up and all over the map. And Bush's clueless foreign policy made it that much worse.
