Zeev, A "hot middle east" serves every whacko with an agenda's best interest too. The "Palestinian Plight" is playing into this perfectly. There are hardline Arab fanatics that will never support Israel's statehood. There are hardline Jews who want all Arabs gone from Israel. They believe there is divine mandate for this. Both are fanatics. Yet fanatics dominate the political landscape.

Somewhere, within the chaos, there is a solution. Solution to any global problem has never been found among the fanatics involved. The situation in Israel is a cycle of hatred, with no end in sight. Yet most Jews would not condone the oppression of others. They simply want peace. Most Palestinians are decent people too, I'm sure. And I'm sure they want peace also. Both peoples are being lead by old hotheads, and the political agendas of others. Both peoples are at their witts end with what has become a myserable existence for all concerned. There are many forces that don't want peace, because violence and oppression serve their own amoral political agenda.

Who killed Rabin, and why? Did you know that the OU asks us to send condolences to that family?..... Lots of unsavory people have a stake in all of this...

"They were the body instigating the "regulation" that refugee camps should be kept as refugee camps by the UN and not allow these populations of displaced persons to be absorbed by the local populations (as the Israeli absorbed all the Jewish Arab refugees from the neighboring Arab countries)."

I didn't realize before that this was a UN decision. I'm curious as to how it is enforced. What keeps the residents from just packing up and leaving?
