Syl, the difference is quite clear, while from time to time the IDF causes collateral damage, they do not target non combatant civilians, the terrorists target innocent and rarely go "face to face" against Israeli combatants. Targeting innocent civilians has one purpose only, sawing terror. Applying the law by arresting or eliminating the declared terrorist is, by UN charter, self defense.

Both sides view the other as lesser humans, ie pigs, and apes, and other not so flattering charactures. Dehumanization is a necessary part of war. It is easier to brutalize "monsters" than humans.... Both sides still value their own lives and that is what they are fighting for. As has been the case throughout history, there are some very "un-holy" things going on in the Holyland....
