The Moslem religion is not the only one that sometimes preaches war. The Christian crusades come to mind. As does Catholic Spain's slaughter of millions of South American Indians in the name of Christ. And the ancient Jews massacring the native people of Palestine (the Philistines) to fulfill God's covenant to take over the holy land. More recently I remember Billy Graham blessing the 1991 Gulf War. Not to mention the rise of Hindu fanaticism in India today which threatens the very lives of tens of millions of Muslims and other non-Hindus in India.
The history of all the major religions is tinged with bloodletting unfortunately.
Let us indeed have peace on earth. LONG LONG overdue. But I am not holding my breath.
