The closest Orange has been to a real combat zone is on a political message board, like most of these republican neocon wannabes hypocrits. He would pee in his pants on patrol in a real combat zone.

These are the types that think they are being patriotic by pounding the table for everything the GOP/Bush says/does and putting absolute BLIND FAITH in all things said/done by this administration. It's very SAD that they are unable to see it with an open mind or constructive criticism. To them its about money, power, influence, and lock step logic, and never ever criticizing the REPUBLICAN PARTY.

JMHO..

You just can't be that stupid. To believe that I suggested that all problems in the world had been magically solved by US military intervention, you'd have to be a complete imbecile, and I refuse to believe that you are a complete imbecile.

The point made by Alex G (calling it a "point" is really dignifying it far more than it should be) is that all wars end with just a pile of dead people and everyone still hating each other. I'm sorry, but that's retarded. I don't know if you've been to Germany recently, but I was there for a weekend, and I didn't see any Jews or Gypsies being incinerated. I don't know if you've been to the South lately, but blacks are no longer owned by white people. The Japanese no longer commit genocide and terrorize all of Asia. Al Qaeda no longer has training camps open in Afghanistan. That's because (and only because) military intervention made it so.

The point is not that war in and of itself is a good thing-- it's a horrible thing. The point is that when exercised by a democratic state in the interest of stopping an evil/genocidal political force (Nazism, the Japanese emprie, Milosevic, radical Islam, Baathism, the Confederacy) war can be a necessary evil that allows history to move forward in a positive direction.

I'm just flabbergasted... you actually think that believing wars have solved some of recent history's major problems, which is an undeniable fact, means you have to believe that wars have solved all of history's problems? That's so dumb.
