LOL, it's definitely another unique dilemma introduced by our space. Usually, the American stuff that gets halted is pink sheet garbage that doesn't have options, or stocks like INTC where there is an announcement--but then the halt is only for a few minutes.
The only place where there is widescale halting going on for periods long enough to materially affect options is right smack dab in CGS land. IMO, if the NASDAQ or SEC wants to halt a stock, they should move the stock to the pinks for the period in which it would otherwise be halted, and then move it back to the main boards if/when the company gets its shit together.
