I'm looking for all of 'them' to become more and more unpopular as time goes on

That's it exactly, what I'm most hoping for.

In my state, Ohio, a decent, hard-working, experienced Democrat who was just starting to turn things around from the almost-unbelievable mess caused by 8 years under a Republican governor, narrowly lost to a Republican former Lehman Brothers fund manager swept in by the factually-challenged "let's wear funny looking colonial hats" group. (Sound familiar?)

Now that he and his cronies actually have to put up or shut up, they've begun by firing everyone who genuinely knows what they're doing and replacing them with hacks who contributed money, shutting down public employee unions, slashing education and social program budgets, and generally charging full-speed ahead back to the past.

And what do you know? More and more people are saying, "Wait a minute, that's not what I meant, that's not what I thought I was voting for." Foremost of course is virtually every teacher, fireman, policeman and union member in the state.

The Republican won the election by 49% to 47%. Now, barely 90 days after his inauguration, in the latest Quinnipiac poll, only 30% of Ohio voters believe he is doing a good job!

I mean talk about plummeting popularity, about The Big Lie meeting everyday reality, about what it actually means to an individual and to a family when those in charge just don't give a damn.

So maybe (hopefully) you're right, we haven't totally lost our mind as a nation, after a while empty slogans and silly costumes will be seen for what they are.
