low, what I mean is... if the earnings date is the same week you find a chart pattern, maybe avoid is so you don't have to hold the trade over earnings since that is risky & can't be predicted? Best to play it in the 1-4 weeks prior to earnings, but ditch it the day before the announcement at the latest. Not sure I explained my point correctly.
Unless, you aim to trigger into a trade if earnings makes a stock go up. Then, by all means, totally different strategy... but very volatile.
