When I did that, years ago, I used Audacity:

It worked great, it's free.

You will still need the hardware... cassette player (I used a portable), a connection (a two sided male plug, probably), and whatever else.

Be careful to turn the sound all the way down to start off or you may blow out your sound card.

John, Total Recorder will work. It records anything your computer plays. This requires learning and time.

Once you have the taped music on your computer, you still have to burn to CD.
