A semi-wet St. Patrick's Day is ahead for Western Oregon and Southwest Washington. Only scattered showers will move through today. A disturbance offshore will drift in to the region by midday and increase the frequency of showers. The late afternoon is looking a bit drier. Daytime highs will be near 51. Overnight, steady rain develops after 1am. The front will be passing though will most of us are sleeping. Lows near 42.

Tomorrow.. and Saturday will also be semi-wet/semi-dry with scattered showers. However, the forecast trend is for DRY weather and east breezes on Sunday- the first official day of Spring! Daytime highs could be near 60 on that day. Next week, the first half is also looking predominately dry with a chance of showers on Tuesday...and highs in the upper 50s.

4. As you are driving through the mountains on curvy roads, the rain begins to peck at your windshield in the form of small drops of wet ice. The roads are wet, and you think there might be icy patches ahead. There is nowhere to pull over. WHAT IS YOUR IMMEDIATE COURSE OF ACTION?

A) Take your foot off the gas and apply frequent pumping to the brakes.

B) Keep your foot on the gas pedal and also continue pumping the brakes.

C) Keep the car going as slowly as possible and only push the gas on the way up the mountain, not down.

"Happy St. Patty's Day!"
