I believe the company knew something was up with the audit when they hired F-H. I mentioned this in a post yesterday. Like you said, F-H is PR, not IR, ironic that this was actually red flag when we found out and not a positive sign.
The timing also coincides with when Jacky stopped communicating to Fernando, Wctbills, etc.
If you read the shareholder letter by the CEO. He clearly states that they are in to take countermeasures against the short. FH is probably one of the many strategies Hank Greenberg recommended.
I doubt the CEO will be able to get FH on board without reassurances from hank and with all the Fraud here and there yelling.
Hank is in the game i am 99 percent sure of it. Now we will see if he can navigate out of this crisis.
Jackie did not do his job, he could not convince the coward Deloitte to not resigned because of potential liabilities. So he took the scapegoat. Why risk taking in 1 million profit when the liability is 50 million and reputation damage? Makes sense to me.
