Not really. I made my picks 20 to 30 years ago and all but one worked out. Finding the stocks to buy on this type of program isn't really difficult. Having the discipline to stick it out is the hard part. I don't "play" stocks. I buy shares in companies and let them make me money. Very little risk and satisfactory rewards. I don't have to worry about timing the market or the stock.
I always invest as if I were looking 20 years down the road because I am. If I am not here to see the results, then my heirs will be.
