Hi jeri: Did I say that the higher cost of oil has no effect? If I did, flog me or burn me at the stake. Many things have a negative effect on the economy; I give you the shocking rise in serial killers, [Corn Flakes is taking a big hit.] The Orioles winning the AL East pennant will murder NY Yankee and Boston Red Sox season ticket sales. More invasions by the U.S. into other countries won't help. And bio-terrorism or dirty nuclear weapons that explode in my town and lotsa others will not do much for our economy. But the worst you ask? Jeb Bush, Florida governor, who insists he's not running
for president, [sure] winning the office that is oval. If $3.10 for gasoline is San Francisco disturbs you might consider moving to Davenport Iowa. ork has it that you'll save 10 cents a gallon.

A friend who commutes for work from the beach to the other side of L.A. told me yesterday that there are fewer cars on the freeways these days, so she can sleep in for an additional half-hour and still make it to work on time. I'd say that higher fuel costs are having an effect if it is impacting the love affair between Los Angeleanos and their cars! LOL Have to say I even noticed that locally here during the day there is much less traffic on the streets these days. See, every black cloud has a silver lining!
