Their were quite a few millionaires in Key west around 1860 this is one of them....
Stroll through the 25-room Victorian home named after its owner William Curry. Though he arrived on this island penniless, Curry made his fortune as a shipwrecker. He was Key West’s first millionaire (also the first in Florida) and subsequently began building the Curry Mansion in 1855.
Visitors can tour the large mansion and peruse its collection of 18th-century antiques, Victorian pieces, Audubon prints and other rare items. There’s also a fabulous Inn attached to the original house.
