I can't speak to the certs issue. I've only seen it mentioned on this thread, so I don't know how reliable the info is. From a purely rational perspective, I just don't see the certs as being as big of an issue as some are making it out to be. It's all data entry. I highly doubt that physical certs were delivered to anyone, especially since it was trading up until about the time of the split, so how would a TA be able to process all those certs and make delivery? And even IF ST should have waited for a cert to begin trading, who's to say that they weren't trying to please their clients by getting a jump on the other brokers and letting them be the first to trade? No way can I ascribe some nefarious motive to ST's timing. Imo they were just conducting business as usual...
