Actually I lived in Fernandina Beach, FL, about 30 miles north of Jacksonville on Amelia Island. Very nice area. Where exactly is the condo you are closing on? Jacksonville is really nice, especially with the beach culture.
Really small world...born and raised in Atlantic Beach, spent 14 of 17 years of childhood at "the Jax beaches" and played much in Fernandina area, took the ferry from Mayport. Knowing I am home is the crossing one of the bridges over the intercoastal, reaching the beach side from the "townie" side and the pungent smell of the marsh hits me like a ton of bricks. Nothing like it.
