John, I'm certainly not saying that Elop's first order of duty is Interdigital. I am saying that he knows the future of Nokia is tied to joining the successful ranks and not necessarily trying to take a leadership role (at least not at this juncture).
For Nokia, part of joining those ranks is accepting the costs that go along with them.
I'm curious to see what will be revealed at Friday's Nokiapalooza (my word).
If Elop is unable to shake off the stink of past management, then I hope that Interdigital and all others just finnish 'em off (forgive the pun).
Bottom line, Elop was hired to right the ship that is Nokia. He will do what is best for Nokia and the share holders as he sees it. I believe he will have to "make nice", at least for the foreseeable future if Nokia is to survive.
If Nokia should become top dog again, all bets are off.
