Exactly, the very same 'brute force' features that Patterson complains about in his diatribe, e.g. the existing ARM core is dual issue and out of order execution which is what x86 went through during the 486/Pentium/Pentium Pro transitions.

Let's see how light and breezy ARM cores and SoCs are when they
finish adding on the heavy tools to do big boy computing.

Yep. At some point, all those things that everyone thought ARM didn't have, they will. And, they will be competition. It's not that far away...
