It doesn't matter. As long as the company needs no funding from shares, they don't really need the shareholders. If they needed their friends to jump in, it would be consistent with the issuance of shares. No money invested by any new shareholders now goes to the company...just to other investors who are selling.
This is only short term thinking on the company's part. They don't have to make current shareholders happy. It sucks, but that's a fact. Eventually, the company will need/want the price to go up. That could occur at any time, but we should be prepared for a longer wait...that's all.
