Not sure if I would put too much money into options at a bottom, but again that's a personal choice. I have a friend that thought he'd hit the bottom in '87. Bought a bunch of stuff with options. Then, of course, day two hit, and he had to walk away from all of it. DOH!!
I am more risk averse than that. Unfortunately. LOL.
I will put a lot of faith - and money - in SMH and a few other big names, but for the small ones I do like those with zero debt. Beyond that, it's only a few of the nice traders I have come to know over the years. KLIC, CYMI, VSEA, SWKS. I have added OIIM to the list from your postings. My first tier would include INTC, AMAT, KLAC, QCOM, NSM ...
I can only drop in so much money into these smaller names, however, so I won't earn anywhere near what you are expecting.
I never really thought much about options on the large caps. I'll have to consider that more if the opportunity presents itself.
