Lol on the punch bowl DannyD and trying to reason with Hilal. But End2war does have several good points about tough guy approaches not working with Hilal. But then again, we have given Hilal three years of silence where no one to my knowledge, other than an occasional confrontational phone call, has been on his case.
We are dealing with a very strange bird. On the one hand, Hilal craves recognition for what he has accomplished in ceramics engineering, which would lend itself to End2war's approach. On the other hand, the guy absolutely doesnt care what the shareholders think about him or what is written or said about him on the internet, which lends itself to a tougher approach in dealing with the guy. That is, you have to deal with him from a power position and the only way to do that is legally or through a government agency.
And End2war is absolutely right that the guy hates to spend a dollar for anything that doesnt directly make him money. He is a miser in the mode of Scrooge, sitting in an office during the summer that is super-heated by his 3500 degree ceramic kilns, and refusing to turn the recently installed air conditioning on.
So the lack of press releases is at least partly attributable to the fact that they cost money. My other thought is that he is not a gifted communicator and that he wouldnt know where to begin as far as providing an update for all that has gone on. It would take him a great deal of time to update the shareholders, and this would detract from his ceramic engineering projects. If he were still relying on shareholders for funding, he would have an incentive to do it in order to get more money per share. But since he is no longer diluting, he is just too lazy to spend the time to write a decent press release. And I use the word "lazy", because despite the fact that he works very long hours each week, that is what procrastination is all about. You put off something that you dont like to do, and even though initially, it may not be very important in the scheme of things, eventually it becomes a total crisis threatening to topple the entire business. And he wouldnt dream of spending money to hire someone to write a press release, so the shareholders sit and wonder and watch the share price sit at zero, all because the CEO is so totally self-centered on himself. I about puke every time I run across one of his website ads which almost invariably begins "Cetek Technologies, Inc., founded in 1989 by Fayiz Hilal"...who the heck cares? Ego-maniac.
Happy New Year to all and I'll drink to Dannyd's wishes that Cetek will awaken in 2011.
