The Old Testament is a bear to read and understand. I know, I've tried and have gotten all the way through it three times. It is as non understandable now as it was before i ever started. I have some Jewish clients, one of whose son is a Rabbi. She told me that her son said that it must be read at least a dozen times to gain any understanding and even then it only becomes clearer if one has some understanding of the old Hebrew culture and some knowledge of the Arabic, Egyptian and Hebrew languages. I have none of those and do not plan on learning them anytime soon.
