Phill- I know I speak for the group when I say thanks for sharing.. Its odd that very few people mention health benefits given alot of folks are trading for a living here.. I think most folks just dont take it seriously, and go un covered...

My brother was unemployed for about a year after the dot.com burst, and he decided to take a gamble and not continue the cobra offered after his termination. 2 months later he was hospitalized, and it took 2 weeks to determine his sickness. He now has another high paying job but he also has a monthly payment schedule to pay back the $100,000+ in hospital bills he rang up.. Of course, this is an extreme case, and he never felt it was worth taking the time to declare bankruptcy or any other way of trying to avoid paying that bill- but it just shows how important it is to be covered...

Heck- I hike over 30 miles a week, and consider myself in top physical health.. but I would never consider even for 1 second going uncovered.. It could destroy you financially..

Thanks again.

Don't remind me about company health insurance.
Local blue cross does not cover phyisicans that my employees see. Oxford wants to charge $50 for name brand drugs or add $50 per person per month for $20 copay drug cards.

Now looking at Guardian, Aetna, United healthcare and Healthnet.

Thanks, Phill. I'll try to check out what Allina has to offer.

I'm one of the millions of Americans with no health insurance (for years now). I'm really only looking for something like a major medical policy to cover the really big stuff -- could even take a $10-20,000 deductible without a problem, just to keep the premium down, but can find nothing suitable at a reasonable price, not even the Realtors' group policy! Well, guess I'll just keep looking. . . and hoping to stay healthy in the interim!
