we are tossing out the window the rules that built this great country and we have a long way to fall
Perhaps it is not so straightforward. The rules of war have been changed by terrorists and we must decide if we are going to adjust to this change or not. A few hundred years ago the British exemplified the accepted rules of war and marched into battle in well organized formations. Over time these rules changed as hiding and ambushing became accepted. Any army that didn't adjust to this change was doomed.
Today the new tactic of war is called terrorism.........where the enemy disguises itself as civilians and kills innocent civilians. The question is how do we fight back and stop this new tactic? Do we follow our old rules of engagement or do we adjust to combat this new threat?
