WHy is that the "likely" scenario. Not that it won't happen but why would it?

In the FWIW department, I have an acquaintance who is a CSCO rep and I asked him how sales were going. His reply?:

"They've stopped"

punkle--

I think the issue with CSCO is: what questions will they allow to be asked during their conference call tomorrow? I expect the canned presentation to be about the same guardedly optimistic talk that we've had in recent quarters, but after being burned again last quarter I think some analysts are going to want to ask some tougher questions this time around. The problem is, it will of course be easy enough for CSCO to bump any analysts they don't want to talk to out of the queue--.

CNBC am-heard report-some MS analyst said CSCO could fall short some 100-200 M sales..it was a brief sound clip from one of the reporters. Sorry no more details. I could be wrong but am quite sure I heard something like the above.

Anyone else saw/heard that? thx

No I am not trying to spread any rumors. Have no posn on CSCO.

Looks like the CSCO "one likely scenario" was the one that played out with an additonal "flat or down slightly" in terms of guidance. Guess I'll get my answer in the coming days and weeks.
