Perhaps then the tier should be renamed Pink Sheets Whatever the Company Sent Us.
One has to try hard to find that disclaimer. Here is the description on the Market Tiers page of Pink Sheets Current Information:
"Pink Sheets Current Information
Companies that follow the International Reporting Standard or the Alternative Reporting Standard by making filings publicly available through the OTC Disclosure & News Service pursuant to Pink OTC Markets Guidelines for Providing Adequate Current Information (pdf) are designated as Pink Sheets Current Information.
The Current Information category is based on the level of disclosure and is not a designation of quality or investment risk. This category includes shell or development stage companies with little or no operations as well as companies without audited financials and as such should be considered extremely speculative by investors."
Would you not think, if otcmarkets claims no responsibility whatsoever for the reliability of the Current Information that is being provided, that this page might be the place to mention that? An investor looking no further, and I suspect that there are many, might reasonably think that there is SOME substance in terms of statement preparation to the published financials based on the above description and lack of a qualification. If an ISSUER showed a similar neglect I'm pretty sure that we'd grouse about it some.
