There is probably not a huge difference. Personally, I have always used Linksys and have never had a problem at all. One time I had an issue that I caused and I called their customer support and they could not have been more helpful. Linksys also makes nice range extenders if you need to push the signal further in your house. I had to do this to get to all of the upstairs areas. They are very easy to set up. Since I know Linksys, I would reco them, but Cisco may be just fine also.

In addition, I know a lot of other people using Linksys and they are all pleased as well.

Thanks to reseller mike's post Cisco and Linksys are one in the same. So whatever one of their products you decide on, you can feel good about the decision, you'll be getting a good product.

Mine is a Wireless-G Broadband Router WRT54G. It's been a GREAT product.

Edit: They probably have an updated version of this router by now. Mine is a couple years old.
