No, you could tell just who the older dogs were, the Gray around their faces that use to be Brindle or a darker color, but the bones were Very Pronounced towards the latter half of the body...and the walk really gave it away....
Greys are raised as a litter, not separated. That's one of the reason they have such great dog manners.
The start racing about 16-18 months. They must win/place/show in 3 relatively high stakes races, otherwise, they're deemed no good. MOST greys racing careers are 6-9 MONTHS..That's it. If they do well, they can certainly hang for 2-3 years..
Only the champion dogs are bred...hence the breed having few, if any, inherent health issues (like hip displacia, etc.). There is a high incidence of bone cancer tho...most likely traced back to the really garbage, hi protein food their fed.
