You're a very lucky guy to see him in an intimate setting of a few hundred people.
Women do go for the danceability, and I'm all for it, so long as it's got that groove, like you say. There are a lot of great musicians who can play fast and hard...but that does nothing for me. Sure I like to rock out, but soul is where it's at. Gotta have soul...or when it comes to rock, it's gotta have edge like Lifeson, Nielson, and Page. I'll take Rundgren who has both...and he knows what, how, and when to play, as opposed more technical or straight rock-out guitarists like Eddie Van Halen.
"Sweeter Memories" is a perfect example of what, how, and when. Love that song. =)
