The option of private banking will be even more appealing now to people once they realize government/Pharma will try to control it. With universal helathcare on the horizon, what do you think will happen to the donor registry reserves? Ask California how the donor registry is working out for them and the 30% or less match for their huge population of minorities and interracial families that would be hard pressed to EVER find a donor match if they needed it. This is just one state. I personally welcome it because this will encourage healthy competition and will put stem cells out in the forefront. Much money to be made in this sector going forward based on real results and speculation. Look at how fast this sector is growing? Could this be the next bubble? It's definitely not there yet, but I ask random people every day if they have heard anything about cord blood banking, and that is the extent of my question, just to guage public awareness, and it is growing very fast. With less than 5% of expectant mothers in America banking cord blood, this market has just barely been tapped - more like the cork has been popped, but the champagne has yet to flow from the bottle.
