It depends on consolidation. Celgene / LifebankUSA own the patent for placenta blood storage. Do you know what Corcell does with the placenta blood? No PR has ever offered what is done with those stems. LifebankUSA founders (former Corcell CEO and CFO) worked for at a time in Corcell's history when R&D like bioreactor, Tulane research, FIU diabetes, Celgene Biopharma projects in LA were underway. If Matt says Corcell today has nothing to do with the technology then maybe the Q should have been phrased to include our placenta contract. Again, Celgene / LifebankUSA hold the patent for placenta blood collection & storage.
Aside from LifebankUSA we are in a very exclusive club. Can you name any other private in the placenta business: Viacord - No, CordLife - No, CBR - No... Why Corcell - Yes? Are we dumping the placenta CBs down the drain or has Celgene given us a license? We know very little about that deal and it is by design. Where do you see speculation? We haven't been fully briefed on the entire placenta operation to include the name of the 'reputable tissue bank' in any PR... more to bridge the info gap has to be coming.
