keV, I have 2 Dell laptops with SED and Wave software, Vostro 1520 and Vostro 3300. The Vostro 1520 is in my office, and the Vostro 3300 is at home. I use them everyday, and love it. They are the work horses. There is no lost in performance at all, and if I loose them, I know my data are safe because no one can get in.

You may want to buy couple Dell laptops, and try them yourself before talking trash about them.

I use a TPM, SED,

FIPs compliant print reader and Waves ETS everyday on my DELL Latitude 6400. I find it very reassuring that my secrets are safe in my pc.

That makes 10 of us that I know of out of the active posters on this board that are daily users, which is probably over 6% of the total. There are undoubtedly more users that I am unaware of.
