J, I like the idea behind AIM, but I like to spice it up a little. I like to sell options against my holdings and I like to take profits more quickly than AIM weekly allows. X-Dev allows me to be completely out of the market when things are trending down. But when it gets overdone X-Dev jumps in! I use it primarily to manage my 401k which is in an index fund. I am looking forward to using X-Dev with the Rydex Funds once my taxable account recovers (hopefully)! It may be a while, I have some real stinkers in there, VTSS, CSCO, JNPR.....! I have averaged down but if they fail it's gonna hurt. VTSS is up 30% from my last buy at .70. I let some go this morning in the .90's, first sell in many moons!
