Could be a gain, not a loss.
Maybe WindTamer could just BUY the "airfoils" from Mr. Brock's company, just like doing business with anyone else. If they would apologize for underestimating him, maybe Mr. Brock would be willing to supply them. If they paid the right price, maybe WindTamer could get an exclusive on these airfoils, so he wouldn't sell them to FloDesign or AWR or Bergey.
Mr. Brock claims to have solved the problem on a WindTamer 8.0GT, which has an 8-foot diameter inlet. It looks like this could be the same size that used to be known as the "3.5 kW" unit, now re-rated at its maximum power output of "4.6 kW".
The 3.5 kW WindTamer is the one that has had people on this board upset because it didn't produce the expected power. If this is now solved, it would be a big relief for all shareholders.
The claims are all the more remarkable because he claims that this is not some theoretical performance, but includes the inverter losses and is the power actually delivered to the grid. And the testing was done on a customer's pre-existing "problem" installation.
So IF IF IF it can be PROVEN that these claims are true for this unit, the largest unit that WindTamer offers, that would answer the question about whether the documented performance of the original 1 kW unit can be scaled-up to this level, at least.
The alternative for WindTamer Corp to buying these airfoils would be a lot more work in-house to try to accomplish the same result without him, and to do it without infringing on his presumed eventual patent.
Sounds like all that would cost a LOT of our money for pride and ego. There would be a very large opportunity cost in months of lost sales, and tying up people who could be doing something more productive. And there is no guarantee of success, so it could all be wasted. And maybe their financial condition does not give them enough time for that alternative anyway.
So how about the people on this board taking all that energy that was going into talk of a lawsuit, and instead pressure the company to test and adopt this immediate solution to their problems. End-users like Gregobd's friend would like that.
Then WindTamer can get busy with MASS sales and MASS production.
And maybe our stock would be worth something, to the surprise of many.
WindTamer: Just BUY the airfoils, after testing them -- problem solved!
We hope.
