My family on both sides have been Democs forever, but if the Repubs could dump the irrational religionists and be the Pro-Freedom (as in No FWOD, legalized prostitution, gambling, etc.), as well as the rational crime fighters (you hurt someone-you go to jail permanently) and the rational economists (a strong economy=a strong country with an awesome military to protect our stuff), and if they would stop the race-baiting and environment hating nonsense, I might join them. That goes for any party, of course. The Greens, or the Nader Greens rather, are taking this approach, and that is why I am now Green. I wonder which major party will steal the Green ideas first? The Democs hate us so much right now that I can't see them taking too many of our ideas. Pride might be their downfall.

The only problem with this scenario is that the party would no longer be republican.
