One of the most challenging issues regarding traditional POS is the need for hardwire power and signal. Once you establish a location for your POS we install the hardwire to get it up and running. If you later determine that the location you have chosen for your POS doesn’t work for you the expense to move it can be out of reach. I have on many occasions witnessed the anguish of new owners as they struggle with the desire to augment their POS location in response to revised customer and employee traffic flow. Most recently a customer of mine spent over 100k for his POS system. The cost of that system sucked much need $ out of his construction budget. From where I sit LCRE is a concept whose time is now. I am remaining long and strong.

It was part of a thread in which the initial post is now absent. Here is an edited version of the first post:

Smaturin, I build resturants for a living and can tell you that my experience with traditional POS systems has always been a heart ache. Firms will make my life and that of my customers opening new locations much easier. I have been long on LCRE since april and take every opportunity to lower my basis with every drop in PPS....

I guess it was not an expansion, but the total cost of a POS system as a new restaurant was being created, when the structural requirements beyond computers and software were considered.

Maybe curbstonebeauties can give us more details about actual total startup costs for a hardwired POS.

This is why all our speculation is of less value than getting the perspective of a restaurant owner who has looked at the FIRMS system. Trio and Nepo managements could give us better insight.
