I don't know how much, Intel rarely gives that type of information out.

Cars and semiconductors have nothing in common. Fins are not patented as far as I know.

There is also a question of Intel's purpose in changing the bus.

For the past several years all of you AMD fanboys have whined that the Intel FSB is inferior and that AMD's HT bus was a huge advantage -- going to take over the world it was. The FSB was indeed getting old and a new, faster bus was needed, particularly in server and high performance applications.

Well, Intel developed a point to point bus and now you whine that introducing a higher performance processor bus is anti-competitive. Go figure.

Remind us again, when is the now very late Bulldozer due? When is the broken 43nm SOI production going to get fixed?

There is also a question of Intel's purpose in changing the bus.

Intel's old South Bridge interface was called Hublink. As is usually the case, things evolve. They moved on to DMI (Direct Media Interface?). Technically, neither Hublink or DMI are busses as they connect 2 and only 2 agents directly. If I understand things correctly, Nvidia claims it has a DMI license. Intel says it doesn't but they could have one for a price.

They have already practiced anti competitive practices and at the same time denial. It has been shown and documented, their purpose.

No Court of Law has ever concluded that Intel practiced illegal anti-competitive practices. I know you want to claim it's documented but only allegations are documented. There is a difference but I wouldn't expect you to know it.

Maybe because it's easier, faster, and cheaper than going through a committee such as JEDEC?

Is it not possible to manipulate bus protocol for a similar effect. I would suggest the number of changes that could be done just for the sake of change is huge.

Please give me an example. I'm dying to see how you substantiate your conspiracy theory here.

How's Intel taking over this space? weird.. they ask for fair value for their IP Nvidia did not want to pay and they should.
