It's a good thing!

Plus, Mexico does it to migrants coming into their country from the south. They can be stopped at any time and asked for proof of legal entry into Mexico. Many are also beaten, robbed and detained...

being here illegally is breaking the law....any other country would enforce that law also....I was not born in the USA...I came to NY when i was 13...I entered the country legally...problem with illegals, at least the ones I know where I own my building, is that they work for cash..pay no taxes...collect government help (medicaid, food coupons, section 8 rent vouchers, welfare checks)...and no I do not mean just latinos...I mean all...the russians in coney island milk the system...

What good is the law going to do?

So they may deport some people and the same people will come right back in. Lather, Rinse, Repeat.

The only way to start to get a handle on the problem is to go to the source of the problem.

The reason people flock here from Mexico is jobs.

Start fining the employers big time who hire illegals.

Once the jobs get scarce, it may slow down the number of illegals who come here.

It all starts at the boarder.
Illegals should not be able to utilize our services, unless cash is in hand. (hospital etc)

The law encourages racial profiling, which has been happening for years.

Would we be in such an economic downfall if the illegals were not here utilizing the services?

Let's see in arizona the crime rate dropped and the murder rate dropped and the killing of Krentz is now focusing on a person from America. It was an over reaction in which it actually perpetuates the problem as the courts will be clogged for years and under the federal law the arrest can be appealed. Some people today have been waiting 5 years to be deported and in the meantime they can get a license to drive and don't worry about being hassled.

By almost any stretch it was ignorant and Arizona will get what it deserves.

Actually the statement you are asking for a response from is inaccurate...first there has to be something for the person to be questioned...such as breaking a law..IE:..speeding...running a red light...broken tail light...

I think it is a good law..it just takes a Federal law and makes it a State law enabling the State and Local Police to now ask for proof of citizenship..and it is only a misdemeanor...Mexico has more stringent laws concerning illegal immigrants and it is a Felony.

Some say take away the jobs and they will stop coming across...I agree..and Arizona has some of the stricktest laws against businesses hiring illegals and has stiff penalties for getting caught..The Federal Government refuses to do what is necessary to enforce the Laws so Arizona stepped up..I wish Texas would do the same thing...
