When I referred to blue chips in the previous post, I meant such healthcare, industrial/tech, natural-resources, and consumer-oriented companies as ABT APD BHP/BBL BMY CLB CVX DE HES HNZ INTC JNJ KMB MMM MON NVS ORCL PCL PFE PG SYK UNP XOM. If the share prices of these companies fell back to Mar 2009 levels, the median P/E of this group would be lower than it has been in a long, long time. I doubt that it’s going to happen.
