Its possible they did research on the best demographic to market to. Hawthorne is pretty good with stuff like that.

You're not thinking demographically.... most of those channels are on at any given time during a day when you're a stay at home mom or a homemaker. (I speak from experience here.)

You could be cleaning house, doing laundry, taking a nap or whatever and still hear a new commercial for a STAIN REMOVER running in the background.

I don't know about you - but, as a mom, you cannot have too much stain remover in the house - especially if your kids are still young enough for things like diapers and jars of baby food and daily spills and stains.

I think the choice of channels is both cost effective and hitting a huge target audience - who does most of the shopping for a household - MOM DOES. Show her a product to make her life easier and, if it's readily available (come on NA), she'll remember to pick some up next time she's out shopping.

All IMHO

Looks to me they are targeting the "stay at home moms"

I don't mean to classify or group people, but it seems they are going after the "moms". They ones who in that recent survey I posted are frustrated with carpet stain cleaning and kid messes.

Based on that survey, that looks like a good target audience for some initial feedback. Either gives survey weight and "yes" mom's are tired of dealing with those stains and messes, or can change up a bit and go in another direction (more manly oil/grease/grime type cleanup)

I thought the channels for a start are good mom/family stations.

I'd have to go back and look, but I thought I remember seeing carpet, wedding dress, etc. in some earlier feedback from Eric while he was in LA.

I only very seldom watch Discovery Health and don't even bother to check any of the other stations. However, this is a pretty broad range of stations -- some that I believe (please correct me if I'm wrong) get moderately good ratings -- that should reach a lot of people.

I noticed that we are airing on "Planet Green", which is probably a smart audience to target for WC, given that it's a "green" product (you could probably throw "Fine Living" and the two "Discovery" channels into that category of audience as well).

Look at them again..there is a reason why they have picked those particular channels...I had to look a couple of times myself...Hawthorne knows what they are doing...things will be tweaked over time...we haven't even started yet....I can see why you posted that though...but then I started to look at the "Targeted" viewing audience....
