Repost- From Eric - WC in Gulf CLEAN-UP
Saturday 12:17 AM
Hello Moderator Team,
This is a status report on what your company is doing at this time of need in the Gulf Coast.
A somewhat overlooked aspect of the need of the organization that is being formed of thousands of clean-up volunteers is their own personal clean-up, and that of their gear, tools, clothing, skin, etc. as a consequence of their work.
Accordingly, Winning Brands has been coordinating behind the scenes with the people who are at the front lines of recruitment, training and assignment of volunteers. As of 12:00 midnight, Friday April 30th/May 1st, arrangements have been made by Winning Brands with the suitable representative of OilSpillVolunteers.com to discuss the immediate donation of several thousand bottles of Winning Colours Stain Remover with the Mayor of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, BP personnel and other accredited participants in the disaster planning exercise Saturday morning. Ocean Springs will be taking a lead role in the training of volunteers in this matter.
I will report to you early in the week as to what has transpired, however you can rest assured, even without hearing anything further back from me during the weekend, that Winning Colours Stain Remover will be participating in the clean-up work of this oil spill.
Best regards,
Eric Lehner

Press Release for Immediate Distribution
Knowing that barrels of oil leaking into the Gulf of Mexico from the collapsed BP operated Deepwater Horizon drilling rig would likely hit their beloved barrier islands and the estuaries and wetlands of Coastal Mississippi, friends and Ocean Springs Inner Harbor neighbors Don Abrams and Melanie Allen joined forces to take whatever proactive steps they could against the disaster they saw coming. The result is a very busy web-site: www.oilspillvolunteers.com. In the few hours this web-site has been on-line, over 700 people have registered to assist in whatever way the can as needs present themselves.
“We are not surprised really at this level of response,” said Allen “because we know how much our neighbors and friends in Ocean Springs care about the natural resources we all enjoy and appreciate. Doing nothing is just not an option.”

Hello Moderator Team:
Latest – Winning Colours has already been found useful. First applications: “We are quite satisfied with the capabilities of the product for the intended use. At the full strength it cleaned embedded axle grease from gloves, black vinyl top dressing and oil/grease coatings from metal.” Many other applications will be explored. The first relief shipment of Winning Colours Stain Remover is leaving our warehouse in Buffalo, New York headed for Ocean Springs, Mississippi tomorrow (Tuesday). A communications routine is being established now between Winning Brands headquarters and volunteer operations on the receiving end. The intention is for mutual learning about most valued uses and performance evaluation on a larger scale.

Hello Moderator Team,
I did not initiate any publicity regarding the oil spill relief actions of Winning Brands because this would have changed the nature of the experience for the recipients from authentic support of them into something crass and self-serving.
However, the recipients have informed me today that they on their own initiative have approached the editor(s) of their local media to discuss Winning Brands and what Winning Brands proposes to do for the community. I gave my consent for their approach to their own media today on the basis that public acknowledgement is authentic if it comes from the recipients rather than from the donors themselves.
It therefore appears likely that a story will now be emerging in due course. I will provide more information after I have conducted my interview with that media, possibly starting with their newspaper.
Please accept my thanks for not having tried to pressure the company to generate self-serving publicity and for trusting in the principle that what “goes around comes around”. If the behaviour of Winning Brands is at all times properly motivated, respectful and takes the interests of others into account as well, not only our own, then our long term relationships with others can be positive, sustainable and mutually rewarding.
This principle appears to be taking hold now in this case again.
