Hi Clive,

Did some buying today, but unfortunately, not at the lows of the day.

Heard on the TV that the company on which that errant order was placed was Proctor and Gamble. The company opened at $61.91, had a high of $62.67, and a low of $39.37. It recovered somewhat and closed at $60.75. Quite a swing from its high to its low.

re: Limit orders in the Market
Indeed yes, I was surprised to find that my open orders for IAF at 9.38 and RMT at 7.53 and FTE at 19.68 all executed.

I was watching this unfold and tried to get a position on in PID as it happened, but Merril Lynch alias Bank of America was non-functional online or by phone! Very poor service I think.

Anyway, it is nice to have the Lichello plan in place and to know it is OK to buy when all others are panicked.

Re: catch any buy limit orders at around 2:47 today?

Well no. Some of us still work for a living. :-)
I really only look before the market opens from home, sometimes over lunch, and after the close.

Last night I was looking at the charts for all my holdings during that 30-40 minute time frame. The biggest 'lost opportunity' was on SNDK.

Here were their lows over during that hour in 15 minute chunks:

2:30 38.69
2;45 36.90
3:00 34.00
3:15 38.54

My next Buy price was 36.90, but I didn't have an order in as I don't use GTC Buy Orders.

However, I did put the order in this morning and it filled, so I didn't really 'lose' anything.

I was able to snag 6 other Buys yesterday which I'll share in a later post.

I was really strange to hear about the whole P&G downdraft

Hi Clive, Re: Mouse Traps working overtime......

Yes, I had some sells and a lot of buys right around the time someone declared Silly Season.

The two sells were in long term bond funds. The buys were all in non-U.S business sectors and regionals. About 66% of them traded favorably compared to the Limit price I had set. Things happened so fast that my orders filled on the "or better..." side of my limits.

It was a busy day and made for quite a bit of busy work early this AM to reset all the mouse traps! Still plenty of cheese left!

Best regards, Tom

Re: 5-6 Buys

Here's a list of what I was able to pick up on 5/6.

In looking at when they filled, 2 occured between 11:45 and Noon, 3 between 2:03 and 3:35 PM and the last was after hours @ 5:42 PM

So I guess that 2:00-2:45 downdraft did look to be helpful on the surface.

On the other hand yesterday's close shows one of the 3 higher by 2.5%, one lower by 2.5% and the last one at exactly the Buy price. Go figure.
