magilla - let me answer this way....in the context of the original concept being posted about..... that Samsung currently using Spreadtrum chips for certain of their TD-SCDMA platforms was revenue generating to IDCC (read product royalty bearing from the chipset level)....yes, I am sure.
Once Spreadtrum launches a WCDMA chip, or a multimode WCDMA/TD-SCDMA chip, we'll see the incremental product revenue.
I would suggest contacting the company on questions like this as part of your DD.
