Apparently this character didn't change his plea in exchange for cooperation. Am I correct about this?
If you change your plea you give up the right to an actual trial. That is my understanding.
Obviously it's up to "the court" to grant the motion.

Six months go by and Bernard Madoff ends up serving 150 years in a federal prison in Butner, North Carolina.
The federal cops served all those arrest warrants in May 2009 in this case.
And here it is April 14, 2010, and not one of these cases has been adjudicated.
Fascinating, utterly fascinating.
