FinnTroll: The whole purpose of those that spew their political BS on Zeev's thread is to use the popularity of the thread as a soapbox; they have no desire for sincere political discussion.

I had the same problem on the SI MDA thread during its "hay day". After I acquired the moderation tool, I stopped it from happening for the most part.

PS: I have no desire to participate in online political discussions. I have learned for the most part they are an effort in futility. I participate on IHub for one reason, investment discussion only. And, I don't want to wade through left wing political rants in the process.

I would bet that the majority of the top five percent that pay about fifty percent of all taxes are Republicans. And I would also bet that the vast majority of the bottom 50% that pay only five percent of the taxes are Democrats.

Socialism became alive and well in the USA, once the Democrats realized they could buy votes with tax dollars.
