why can't they extricate us from the crisis?

my answer: they're not really experts....OR, as I alluded to in another post, the answer lies outside their area of expertise....maybe, the observations of the past and the remedies are inappropriate for a 21st century environment

The "experts" were cherry picked.

The banks were bailed out and management was kept in place to insure no one would find the skeletons in the closet........

And last, but not least.........Wall St's campaign contributions made sure they would be supported.
