Why bother?
Well, I can't recall the corny line from that movie Sea Biscuit, but it had something to do with not throwing away something just because it was a little broken down -- things that you love, you nurture back to health.
In fact, the whole point is that it is possible for a fan to be frustrated at MLB and the player's union disgracing the integrity of the record books by blowing off the steroids issue, yet not dump the seasons tickets that have been in the family for a generation. It's possible to be angry at your spouse, and feel you've got a right to something other than a one-way relationship and being interested in doing what's necessary to deal with what's wrong rather than viewing it as either "shut up and take it" or "walk out the door and never come back".
