Ehp, I agree with your opinion here (though not necessarily your new handle, at least not yet). The main difference I have is the walk away or full production part. IMO, if this is mostly gas then SNP might want to hold on to the assets by doing minimum for next 4 years as they wait for technology to provide more cost effective ways to produce deepwater gas or until demand (and price) is higher.

All told, I would have been delighted if SEO had taken his $2 or $3 and gone out with Gandur. He chose to roll the dice and we're still waiting to see who wins.

Those calculations should take all of ten minutes using the sophistication of a laptop computer to determine those numbers. Not sure if you are being thrown under a bus or just trying to figure it all out using your own logic. These multi-billion dollar companies have the technology or can hire the technology to get those stats in a few weeks at most.

My advise is to STOP being an apologist for the oil companies involved and start viewing other alternatives. My take is that they are negotiating with the indies to determine buy out pricing and those negotiations are complex. Nothing to do with the geology at this point.
